The physical highpoint of the circuit – and probably emotional too! A committing and memorably beautiful passage over remote Monte Genzana that dominates the southern end of the Sulmona Valley. The route links two of the loveliest villages and, along the way, visits the two highest summits on the Ring – Monte Genzana and Monte Rognone. This may not (quite) be the most challenging stage of the walk, but it is probably the best – a day in the mountains with purpose and wonder in perfect balance!
